In March 2023 Viticcio participated in a conference organized by the Chianti Classico Consortium aimed at containing Flavescence Dorata in the area. The causal agent of flavescence dorée (FD) is a phytoplasma, belonging to the group of vine yellows, which settles in the phloem tissues of the host and causes the blockage of the processed sap, inducing an imbalance in the physiological activities of the plant itself. Participating in this type of conference means committing to implementing a defense strategy and at the same time comparing it with other companies in the area.
